Re: Carden Edition 89" Extra 300 Mid-Wing ARF by Hangar 9

I would imagine that there have been all sorts of changes made to the "Carden" way of building to allow for mass production. It might be difficult or even impossible to build this plane without a bunch of specialized jigs etc. That being said, I agree that it would be nice if Carden offered this size and type of kit

Re: Carden Edition 89" Extra 300 Mid-Wing ARF by Hangar 9

The Hangar9/ Carden Yak from a few years ago was almost identacle to the larger Carden kits.

I imagine this one would be very close to the Big kit.
Denis designed it and he is to particular to sign off on it and attach his name to it if it wasnt exactly what he wanted.

I would like to see better pictures to see the control surfaces more. Size and such.
Also pictures of the inside.

It doesnt say if it has a canister or pipe tunnel.

All important factors to the market in this day and age.

Re: Carden Edition 89" Extra 300 Mid-Wing ARF by Hangar 9

The manual should be up on HH.com shortly. Should be some internal pics there. Construction is a blend of Carden and Hangar 9...best of both worlds. Has balsa sides balsa sheeted foam fuse top, bottom, stab/elev, fin/rudd and wings. Instead of the stick built trus structure inside the balsa fuse sides its more laser cut lite ply so the models are consistent, quality stays high. Its really pretty cool.
I'm very proud to have been able to work with Dennis on this one. He's a great friend and has a fantastic eye for model design.

Re: Carden Edition 89" Extra 300 Mid-Wing ARF by Hangar 9

A couple more notes. DA-60 bolts right on...firewall is set, hles drilled and b-nuts installed. Canister install is piece of cake. All pre done and covered in the manual. Pretty much a no-brainer on this one.
SFG's are included.
There is even an available ep installation kit. We engineered it to bolt into the existing airframe, so no reeigineering is needed to make it ep if you want to go that way. (in fact I can convert my model from gas to ep or ep to gas in less than two hours).

Weight with a DA-60 and muffler is about 18.3lbs. Power here is very good!

Re: Carden Edition 89" Extra 300 Mid-Wing ARF by Hangar 9

I went on the hangar 9 site.

Lots more photos, but no internals. Maybe in the manual.

But it looks really good

Love that scheme and colors

I luv the Old Carden YAK!! I Still have them and just flew it the other day.

The old ones had a Canister Place.. not really a covered separate tunnel, but it works.

I'm excited to see this.......

....... that new 3DHS Edge better show before this one... or I may get an itchy trigger finger.
