Is This the one?. Produced in 1998. If I remember correctly just an all round good sport engine.

Depending on what your going to use it on, good engine.
We use the 25fx's for combat and on a 9x4 prop the fx turns it 2000 rpm's faster than the other older 25's

The FP is a plain bearing engine.
The FX is a ball bearing engine.

Both are good engines but the FP is more suited to sport flying than competition.

Don't use an electric starter too much on a plain bearing. You will eventually grind the end of the crankpin on the backplate. This can be remedied by adding a washer just behind the thrust washer when needed.

Re: Os25 Fp

The bushing engine line has been replaced with LA series engines, the 25FP was changed to remote needle valve in 1998.

Therefore your engine is from the previous century sometime.
You have to compare it to a 25LA but parts are easier to come by for the LA.
(I have an OS20FP somewhere here, runs great, good engines)

Re: Os25 Fp

The FP has been replaced by the LA which is still a bushing engine.

Better performance.

Re: Os25 Fp

The LA Line of engines are good for nothing but paperweights. It has an airbleed carb that is garbage and built incredibly light. My .25FX had more power then my .40LA So if you need a cheapy .25 I'd take an FP over an LA anyday. My two cents.

I liked my 46LA, worked wonderfully pulling my flat-bottomed-wing trainer inverted around the field. I wouldn't put my 25FX on a 72" trainer.

Maybe you need to learn to tune an air bleed carb?
