Sup guys,

I did some racing last year in Toronto. The problem which I faced it is not soo many good places for Rc boats.
I found a few ponds but with all of them have some problems.
Some ponds are to small, some have rocks or trees and boat could be damaged, some have a lot of sludges on the surfaces and etc.
Sometimes locals even complained that I scared ducks and have to go away.
Also what I found that racing along is a kind of boring. You cannot really compare your boat performance, see what other people do and etc.
So if someone knows some good spots or would like to cooperate feel free to contact me.

Re: GTA

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of great boating places in the GTA. As you said, most ponds are so full of gunk and pond weed that they just clog up the prop. Any good spots are usually privately owned or are in conservation areas which cost big bucks for admission. Lake Ontario is really your best bet, and I believe there is a model yacht club in Toronto that sails near Humber Park. Also lots of good spots north of the city in Muskoka and the Kawarthas.

Re: GTA

Thank you for your respond.
Everyone always sending me to Marine Modellers. The problem is they scale and sail RC boaters which they build. They don't have a division of FE RC boats.
I'm very surprised that in such big city like Toronto there is no other hobby club for FE.
Looks like everybody prefer single run.

Re: GTA

Boats just aren't very popular for some reason. Hence why there's so little activity on this board. Even on the big forums like RC Groups, the boat boards are dwarfed by the car and plane ones.

So far the best spot for boating I've found is Spencer Smith Park in downtown Burlington on Lakeshore and Maple. There's a lookout spot close to Joseph Brant Hospital that goes right down to the water. There's also a large reflecting pool out front of Spencer's restaurant that allows model boating. Free parking there on weekends. Haven't got a chance to get down there though due to the Sound of Music festival. So if any boaters in the west end are interested, maybe we can get something going.

Re: GTA

Yeah, you are absolutely right about boat. Somehow people prefer more drones or cars.
I just checked Spencer Smith Park. It is a nice place but a way long for me to drive there.
What boat do you have ?
