Ya, I'm leaning towards the newest Castrol Aviator scheme also! It will sure be the biggest challenge to cover!

I'll check and see if Kirby's Kustom Graphics has ever done such a package!

Cheers

I love that scheme, have you seen this one yet?

http://aero-works.net/store/images/u...ge_large14.jpg

Not a scale scheme but a scale-looking scheme, I like it as well.

The Castor scheme is a good design, I'm wondering what it would look like in differant colors and with a differant sponsor???

Blue and Cub yellow with white base perhaps?

andrew!

Like this! Excuse the photoshoppin, I didn't spend anytime on it, its just to show the idea.

I could do this with any two colors if you want to see what it would look like Trev..

Luv this version of Chambliss's Red Bull scheme. BTW, once you use Die-hards graphics, you'll never go back to Kirbys

So much for this being my winter project!! I just couldn't resist getting started on the motorbox!!

My goal here is RTF at 35 lbs with a DA150!

Here are a few pictures of all the motorbox pieces. At 2lbs, 12.3oz, there is lots of weight to be shed here!

Re: 40% Carden Edge 540 - BBT - Build Thread

The stock motorbox sides weighed in at 20 oz!

After a ton of research on Flying Giants (and pulling out a few Engineering books), I've decided to go all out on the lightening of the m-box. Final weight of the sides came in at 9 oz, so a savings of 11oz !!!

Got the top and bottom motorbox plates lightened!

Original plates were 6.3 oz

Lightened plates are 2.6 oz

Therefore a saving of 3.7 oz

Re: 40% Carden Edge 540 - BBT - Build Thread

Onto the back motorbox plate. Due to the tapered design I'm going with on the motorbox, not only can I take off ounces on the sides, but the backplate becomes superlight!!

Original backplate was 2.9 oz

Lightened backplates is 0.5 oz

Total savings of 2.4 oz

The landing gear plate also got a trim. I followed the cut-out profile of the lightened landing gear!

Original gear plate weighed 4.4 oz

Lightened gear plate is now 1.6 oz

Total saving is 2.8 oz
