Question 1/2oz Perfect Rectank

I was going through some of my Grandfathers old model stuff, and came across a #5 gas tank.
Its a Perfect 1/20z rectank. Sold for .75c =)
What is this tank for? I have a few of them. My guess, it runs inline of your exhaust pressure line, and collects all the oil spew, so that it doesn't run down the side of your plane. Am I right?

It's a fuel tank for a small engine, 049 size maybe larger. Was used for control line models back in the day. Still a good tank to fly c/l with. I never thought of using it as a spew collector ...

Never knew he flew control line too. =)
So would my idea work though? Anyone tried using a small tank as a catch can?

Re: 1/2oz Perfect Rectank

Is it possible for you to post a picture?
I own #'s 15,16,17, and 18 tanks, all obviously for C/L. I'm interested in seeing what yours looks like.

Back in the day, there was no exhaust systems.
