Hello...

Is this thread still active?
Have those Sail Boats been Christened yet?
I just purchased a 2003 Horizon Hobby Sanibel 36-600 that has never seen water, just the inside of a garage/basement. Mint condition and complete (minus batteries). The access hatches need attention, they are definitely not factory water tight.
Found a pond in Paris ON. where sailing is enjoyed by fellow hobbyist's but have yet to introduce myself.

Cheers
Andrew

Re: sailboat just looking

I took my little Catamaran out for the first time today and was it ever fun! Nice and quiet lots of run time between batteries, no fear of high speed crashes, just great for old men. There were times I had it doing a good clip with the wind and even got it to tack back at a respectable speed for going against the wind, just loved it but find our complex pool a little on the small side. There are ponds around my area but they are mainly shallow with vegetation underwater that could grab a low hanging ballast so I am going to stay with Catamarans for now. I do believe there is a lot more skill I need to learn so that leads me to three questions; (1.) What is the best configuration hull and sails wise for a Catamaran? (2.) Due to lack of hobby space is there a really good handling Catamaran? Thanks in advance.

Re: sailboat just looking

I have gone out twice now lately with a buddy who has a number of sailboats. Yesterday I took my Victoria out too and when we got to the lake I opened up my transmitter case and discovered... my chargers! Took the wrong case!!

So we sailed his once again!

Re: sailboat just looking

Well that sure sucks Mervin! Have to get some more sailing in before the ponds freeze and sail boats are put on dry dock.
