No Muffler

Am running a Saito 14cc gas without muffler. Using stock exhaust pipe (1&1/2 in.). I am getting 300 to 400 more RPMs. without muffler. As I'm in the country noise is not an issue. The question is-Will I damage the engine doing this as I am comprimizing back pressure?

Re: No Muffler

As long as you keep the mixture 300 RPM's on the rich side it should be fine.

Re: No Muffler

I run a Saito straight pipe on almost all my Saito's. Here's an example SAI182TD74A Its the straight pipe from the twin engines with a pressure nipple. I've used them for years and find I get extra power and immediate throttle response which is nice in a hover. Plus the weight you save vs a muffler. I've even tapped out the stock header pipe to put a pressure fitting on it which also works great and sounds great. Floyd
