Holes drilled. Marking the standoff height.

Ready for standoffs - note the wax paper underneath for any glue that might leak.

Standoffs glued. Sometimes a little extra glue is good.

Re: Stuffing a DLE 20 into a Hobbistar 60

While the standoffs dried, I took the time to connect the fuel line.

Getting a zip tie through an awkward location is easier if you put a bend in it (sometimes two bends).

Fuel line connected and secured. Note the choke arm below - routing the linkage is next.

I started decided to mount the choke bracket by bolting one of the engine mount bolts through it. I started with some spare aluminum and marked a 12mm line.

Re: Stuffing a DLE 20 into a Hobbistar 60

Next, I cut it out with my trusty rotary tool.

Clamped in the vise to clean up the edges.

This is the bolt that will pass through the bracket.

11/64" is just right for the hole size.

Re: Stuffing a DLE 20 into a Hobbistar 60

Started with the pin vise to drill a pilot hole.

11/64" hole done on the drill press. Note the line - that marks where I'm going to make the 90º bend.

Bent.

Eyeballing the lateral line for the choke rod hole The upright part of the bracket will be shortened.

A little more progress tonight. Got the top of the choke bracket cut off.

Bracket and choke rod installed.

Re: Stuffing a DLE 20 into a Hobbistar 60

Back to the battery tray. The standoff glue is cured.

From the front you can just see the forward standoff under the tray. From this angle it looks like the tray rests on the receiver... but it doesn't.

The tabs stuck out a bit too far so both sides got sanded flush.

Re: Stuffing a DLE 20 into a Hobbistar 60

Those wooden tabs don't look right against the black covering, so I covered the tabs too.

I also did some colouring with a Sharpie to blacken the wood in the notches and the tab ends.

That's better.

Re: Stuffing a DLE 20 into a Hobbistar 60

In the odds and ends department, I took a few minutes to make a wire keep for the switch wires...

... and I configured the ignition cutoff on my transmitter.
