Ya... Big increase in speed also! Twitching violently here

Will likely become a reality in spring 2015. Only mods are to widen the opening where the turbine mounts and making a bigger hole in the firewall for incoming air. The gearbox is the same as the SPT5 so almost a bolt-in upgrade.

Currently thinking of plans for the SPT5

Re: Another CompARF Tucano / JetCat SPT5

Paul.. After the poor communication with J.R. At JetCat when I bought my SPT5 and great luck with my K180G, I'd have no issues trying the Kingtech My only hesitation is that the SPT10 is almost direct bolt in for my case, especially the gearbox mount.

Do you have any links or thread on the new KT turboprop???

Wow... Insane! 26x24 and 26x20. Pure nuts. The 25x12 is working well on the SPT5 but in the grass, it has green tips... Minimal ground clearance. I'm surprised they can get away with a 26"

Awesome power! Can't get over the speed and vertical

Yep. If u read the CaRF literature, they call out a 3 blade as they say 26"props are too big. I ran mine with a 26x10 2 blade and the difference in pull vs. A3 blade 24x12 was substantial.

The crazy part is he prolly pushed the dia up to 26 and then started adding pitch to load up the turbine.

Surely you guys can put a lift kit in the nose wheel for bigger props??

Re: Another CompARF Tucano / JetCat SPT5

Okay... before I go and do something silly and buy an SPT-10 , I think I need to set the Tucano up in the driveway and see if a 26" prop could work - perhaps a 1/4" or 1/2" lift kit like Brad suggests will be the ticket!! If the SPT-5 will spin a 25x12 3B, I'm sure it'll spin a 26x12 or 26x14 2B and there's always a huge thrust increase from 3blade to 2blade.

Re: Another CompARF Tucano / JetCat SPT5

Got out with the Tucano the other day for a bunch of flights. Brakes decided to hardly work. Perhaps I wore out the pads, LOL.... under investigation.

Still my favorite all-time model I've ever owned. Love this plane.
