Has anyone ordered planes from Nitro Models? Their prices seem pretty good. I was wondering about shipping and duty. I've also read some negative comments about there customer sevice. Are these problems an exception, or are they common?

I really like some of their planes. Are they to good to be true? Here is my personal favorite. A 40 size P51 with retracts.

Cheers. George

G-man

Check the General forum.

I think someone has a post on there about a delivery problem with these guys.

I think you can probably find similar items at other sites, like Chief Aircraft.

Hi George, I purchased the FW-190 from Nitro Models. A great value for the dollar. I got nailed an extra $25 for duty. My kit came perfectly wrapped without any damage,to my door. Their problems seem to be the exception not the norm. I'll be purchasing again in the future from them. cheers, Karl

I ordered a Bobcat back in Nov and it arrived quickly with no damage by Fedex Ground. I was invoiced $7 for GST and brokerage ( - a gift if you have ever received anything cross border from United Parcel $mashers)

I'm considering placing another order with them, but the big decision is which plane --- there are just waaaaaaaay too many to choose from...

I am following a couple of threads on RCU...There seem to be many planes shipped and the problems have been very few.

The Bobcat looks pretty good, and fast! Have you flown it yet?

Kargon,

You didn't get hit with DUTY just GST and Brokerage Fees. There is NO duty any more on stuff from the US.

nitro models

Also nitro told me they ship to canada by postal service, even though it says ups on there site....postal service means no brokerage fees. I ordered a $200 plane and paid $8 in gst only. Construction on there planes is decent, actually very good for what they charge. I have the pitts and it didn't even have a wrinkle.

I ordered the Bobcat from them. The only troubles I had was the fact that they are such a popular item at the moment that when I ordered it my name was way down on the list to receive one. Once they stated that it was in iot took about 2 weeks to get here. Althought they state on there website that they ship UPS. It actually will come Fedex. My invoice from Fedex came in yesterday and my charges from them were $10.95. I would not hesitate to order from them again. Their brushless stuff looks to be a bargain price.

nitro

Ya, way too cold here. My nitroplanes pitts and the cg pitts are going to have to wait a bit. Hopefully I can wait that long, my ski are too small for the cg and too big for the nitro...damn.
