Re: 4 * or tiger 2

I've had both.... both are great. The only disadvantage with the 4* series (unless they have fixed it) is that the stringer right behind the canopy tends to break...usually when you turn it upside down to put the wing on. It didn't affect it at all, but it was very noticeable.......... The Tiger 2 had a weak spot in the fuselage right near the trailing edge of the wing. The wood is quite narrow there between the wing saddle and the huge canopy. It is a good idea to add a doubler behind this area to strengthen it.......

Re: 4 * or tiger 2

Check out the Hangar 9 Pulse XT60 as well. It does all the things the 4* and Tiger do but, in my opinion, it looks more like a modern plane.

I bought one as a prelude to moving to gassers. It takes off and lands like a trainer and is aerobatic enough to use in IMAC.

Whatever you choose, you won't go wrong.

Re: 4 * or tiger 2

I've flown them both. Either one will be an excellent second plane. There the type that you never get rid of.

Re: 4 * or tiger 2

I've had both.

The tiger 2 is a bit heavier and handles wind a bit better.

The 4* floats a bit more in landing.

As a second plane you'll be happy with either one. They make good first time out in the spring planes and will probably stay in your fleet for years.

Re: 4 * or tiger 2

Tiger 2 is an excellent plane. It'll do almost anything you want with a good level of forgiveness. I have skis on mine right now. Great winter flyer too.

Re: 4 * or tiger 2

Apples to apples...... they are both fantastic planes. The only thing differant between the two is the Tiger will land a bit easier whereas the 4* will be slightly more aerobatic and nimble. But you can't go wrong with either.

Cheers
