What did you get?

My first time there, I BROKE the BANK!!! and Luv'd it.

I got me some BLING!!! Fancy wheels and landing gear stuff, the stuff does look HAWT!
I got me some SMOKE JUICE!!! woohoo gallons of bug control..

Oh yeah I found the everyday usage stuff like Thunderpower batteries and carbon fibre goodies to be the best "bang" there. IMO

Side note: OMP airplanes had gotten my attention at the show, I am seriously considering one for my next purchase.

Re: Toledo!!!!????

Hanes,

What blingy wheels did you get?

where was the smoke oil, Robart?

OMP has some good stuff. Pinky is an OMP prototype for a kit but they decided to go with ARFs instead. Apperently there 104" Extra is a nice flier. Pinky is 104" Extra and flies pretty sweet when inthe right hands, ask Trevor!

Re: Toledo!!!!????

Scored a set of Airmen, overpriced - good lookers...... what bling is about LOL

Yup, went with 5 Gallons of Robart!

Pinky is an OMP? NICE.

I could have spent my kids college fund there EASY!. As it was, I came close. I walked by DA's booth..............hate that place LOL

EDIT: Special thanks to Volks123 and his boys for allowing me to tag along, sure made the experience more enjoyable.

Re: Toledo!!!!????

Picked up a 3D Hobby Shops 57" Extra 330 and all of the accessories - Hacker motor, CC ESC, Hitech servos and Futaba 8 channel receiver. Two years ago I purchased their 51" AJ Slick. Really like the way it flies! I now have two electrics in the 50-60" range to compliment my bigger electric and gasser stuff. This size is great because I can just throw it into the truck and head to the field without worrying about assembly or disassembly. Its a perfect size - small enough to be easy to transport, but big enough to create some presence in the air and they perform much like the larger planes.

Also picked up some carbon fiber for my foamies, pilot busts, T-shirts, videos and whole slew of smaller "must have" items.

All in all a very successful trip (again)

Re: Toledo!!!!????

I didn't spend too much this year, just got my year's supply of C/A and kicker and purchased a Spekturm Receiver and a data logger. That's it!

OMP has some very quality products. Unfortunately for them, they told me that this year people only looked but didn't buy! They went home pretty discouraged with their sales this year. We, on the other hand, in the 12 years that we have had the booth setup at Toledo, we had the best year ever! Just depends on mood or the demegraphic of the people attending I suppose.

Joe Nall may be a different story for both of us. OMP will no doubt make up for the Toledo show at Joe Nall. That is where all the big boys come to play!

By the way, I didn't see one person wearing their RCCanada gear at the show. What's up with that? I was the only one wearing my new hoodie and T shirt. Got lots of comments on it. Not only beautiful but very comfortable! Maybe next year once folks have had time to get some of the new gear!

I was wearing my black RCC t-shirt, but it was under my sweater

Gary, you mention that you're going to be a the Joe Nall. Great! My wife and I will be there as well. We intend to take down our travel trailer and stay on site. Only problem that I have is that the trailer is stored on my field that still has 2+ feet of snow on it. Its been snowing all day here in North Bay, with no relief in sight I'm beginning to worry that I won't be able to move the trailer in time for the event.

Re: Toledo!!!!????

Gary, I was looking for you on Friday, the only day I could be there, but did not connect.

Got some fuel, some pilot figures, a Polaris kit, and some odds and sods from the swap area. Didn't break the bank, but then I never do. (I have to maintain my rep as a cheapskate!)

Enjoyed bumping in to folk I knew, and finally got to meet Frank Klenk face to face. I figured Friday would not be as busy as Saturday, but it was wall to wall warm bodies anyway. Had difficulty getting close to some of the booths to talk to people at times.

I picked up a few goodies I need to finish off a plane. I like shopping at TNT, Aeroworks, DA and Electrodynamics, always good stuff there. It was good to meet you Dave! I looked everywhere for Gary Maker. Where were you hiding? The MAAC booth was busy, lots of friends stopping in to say hi.
