Help timing camshaft on FS 120

Hi:

I was wondering if anyone could please tell me the timing procedure for the camshaft on an older OS fs 120?. I have located a dot on the camshaft but cannot find a corresponding mark on the housing, also I assume that the piston should be on top dead centre.
Any advise would be appreciated, Thanks Pete.

Pete,
If I recall correctly, (At work now, my 120 manual and timing info at home), the dot on the timing cam should be at the 12 o'clock position when the piston is at TDC (Both valves closed).

Nothing in my instruction manuel, so I opened up the valve lifter cover. At T.D.C. the lifter lobe is pointing down and the dot is in line with the lower bolt hole of the cam cover.
cheers, Karl

The prop driver is keyed to the crankshaft. There is a scribed line on the outrside diameter of the prop driver. Align this line with the centre line of the case at the top of the front bearing housing.

Hold the shaft steady at this position. The camshaft will have to be sort of twisted into position. The timimg mark should be at the 6 o'clock position. If you do not get it the first time rotate the camshaft one tooth forward or back until the timing mark is correct.

Edited to add: I assume this is the FS 120 with the pushrods at the front.
