Re: Flying Giants / F3M

That is a great write up and very interesting to see what's happening in Europe. They have much more stingent sound rules and fly the "box" like we used to in pattern. I would like to see us work on some of these improvements especially sound in the next year or so. I will be doing some experimenting of my own and let people know the results. Lunch there looks much more appealing!

Re: Flying Giants / F3M

I would be interested to know, does including the free style in the over all scoring help attract spectators to the contest?

Re: Flying Giants / F3M

Another recent F3M event held in Switzerland. Check out the electric plane, with red and green smoke!

Re: Flying Giants / F3M

Would I be right in thinking that the red & green smoke would be made by flares which are lit up before take off & stay on throughout the routine?

Re: Flying Giants / F3M

He very likely has a switch on his transmitter to ignite the flares. Once lit, they would likely smoke continuously until they run out.
