Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally got my new IMAC ride. This thing is huge, I knew it would be big, but seeing it in person it is much larger than I thought. The first picture shows the 3 boxes before opening. The plane comes double boxed with a layer of plywood between the two boxes. The corner of the box that the cowl was in was dented in a bit but the plywood did its job and protected the precious cargo inside.

I also ordered the carbon wing/stab tubes, dash, carbon tail wheel, and wingbags for it as well. I plan on ordering the carbon main gear for it as well. I have a DA 85 for power. The servos will be Hitec 5955's on all the surfaces. I will more than likely go with A smart-fly ignition kill, Fromeco's new iron corps A123 batteries, and an MTW 110 cannister. Also I won a 4" no limitz carbon spinner at the NATS last year that will get used on this thing as well.

I plan on doing as good a build thread as possible but from what I hear there is so little to do on these things that there might not be all that much to show. Here are some pictures for the unpacking for now. I still need to order the servos/electronics for this beast so I cant do much for now. I was just so excited about this that I just had to start this thread and show off my new baby. Sweeeeeeetttttttt!!!

Adam... sweet plane! I've got the 50cc size and absolutely love the flight characteristics... my favorite plane to date!!

You're going to love it and the QB series is second to none!

Looking forward to the build!

Cheers

Congratulations on your choice of planes, you're going to absolutely love it!

I just went through the same thing as you about 3 weeks ago now. Hard to believe how huge that main box really is. I stood it on end and could squeeze inside it perfectly..LOL.

Its so exciting pulling everything out and checking all the pieces and parts. Unbelieveable quality.

I had all the intentions of doing a build thread and so I started putting it together and before I knew it, it was mostly done. It will go together so increadably fast you'll just be amazed!

I have the 50cc Yak 54 but your plane will pretty much go together the same way. Take your time and enjoy the assembly. Assembling this plane will be like reading a good book, once you get into it, you'll find it hard to put it down.

All the best and happy flying. We'll see you at a few IMAC contests, I'm sure!

Re: Aeroworks 75cc Extra 260

Got a little bit done tonight. I managed to get the engine installed. Its not much but its all I can do until I get the rest of my parts.

Re: Aeroworks 75cc Extra 260

Looks good Adam,

I have this plane also you are going to like it. It's hard to tell by the pics, but I think you may need to cut out a little more for clearence of the throttle. That is if you are going to mount the servo on the side wall with the provided mounts. Also use the da 85 template when mounting the engine, the included motor mount doesn't provide enough clearence from the cowl. I have had two of these planes, on the first one I didn't notice it until after and the spinner backplate rubbed on the cowl. I used it on the second plane and came out good. Brad.

Re: Aeroworks 75cc Extra 260

Thanks for the tip on using the firewall template. I knew that I would probably have to take the engine off again I just wanted to get it on there to get a look at how it would fit.
