Hi,
There have been some threads about conversions done by some of you.
I've also read that brushless 1/8th might supplant nitro in the future...

What are your thoughts?

I love my brushless RC8. I just ordered another pack for it from Dominic. Plug and play and it runs and runs. Cleanup is a breeze, no complaints.... we have a track built for electrics in a park just inside the treeline. Most of the guys there are now converts too

Electric 8th scale is here just in time IMO.
It will allow the 8th scale class to continue during a time when the sound and emissions of nitro burning engines is not being tolerated in many areas.

In addition to this you have the health problems with running nitro indoors which will be completely avoided with electric 8th scale.

For anyone who is interested in seeing one of these 8th scale electric conversions, I will be at various tracks with it (along with others) if you want to have a closer look.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses.

Right now I have no rc at all other than my old RC-10's from about 15 years ago (used to race RC12L as well in the winter).

Therefore, I'm up in the air if I will buy now either 1/10 offroad (2WD or 4WD) or 1/8 4WD. I might consider waiting until some 1/8 4WD electric kits hit the market.
I guess I could get a nitro kit now without motor/etc and get an upgrade kit like Aqwut suggests.

What do you guys suggest? 1/10 2WD or 4WD or 1/8 4WD and in that case what car?

Thanks.

Best advice I would give is to go out to your local track during a race day or practice day and get a look at these amazing little machines up close and kick the tires, ask questions, etc...

Most tracks are open this weekend. No better time than the present!

What track will you be at this weekend and what day?
I wouldn't mind seeing your conversion.

It's a work in progress still...ETA is the end of May/beginning of June. I decided to wait for the Castle Creations Monster Max to be released and that caused the delay.

I will post pics of it when it is complete and ready to tear up the dirt!

I will have my 1/10th scale electrics (2wd - B4 and 4wd - BJ4) at Sid's Raceway this Sunday for the Spring Shakedown race.
