When do you consider Aka City Blocks worn out?

Stupid question, when do you replace Aka City Block tires?

They have two sets of treads on them. Do you guys change them out when the first set of tread is gone or do you wait until the second set is gone too (i.e. bald)?

Confusing I know, hopefully this picture helps. The first set of treads is gone... Time to replace?

Hmm looks like a practice tire to me...

As long as you can get decent traction they should be good even if the first set of blocks is gone. Not something you would use in quals or the mains.. just friday practice.

It all depends on the track your running at. I know at the Nats this year my city blocks worked the best after the top pin was wore off.

That's half the point of a city block. There is essentially two separate treads. It's a very versatile tire.

As Sandy said at some tracks they will work better on the 2nd stage pins.

At the Nationals i saw a few top AKA and proline drivers wearing these 2 stage type tires down in practice and running them in the quals and mains because the second pin was more stable on super high-bite tracks.(probably wont happen that much up here though)
