Is it ok to mix cells if they are NICD battery packs 1500 and 1700 cells? I have 2 packs that I never use I was thinking making them into a 7 or 8 cell battery pack for something to do would it work I don't care about the packs at all?

What would be a good cheap way I wiring them they are both stick packs I was thinking of just running some wire from the pack to 2 extra batteries and taping them together.

Thanks for your help !

I just tried it out it flys now but run times are short with the cheap batteries but thats good because I don't want to wreck the motor or ESC just yet.

That is correct. More cells give you more voltage. The shorter run time is due to the added internal resistance of the extra cells.

Mixing cells is not a great idea as your battery will only be good as your weakest cell. Shorter run times - and lower cell life can be expected.

Depending on your speed control - you could be damaging that as well. With the price of NiCD's so cheap now, I would suggest buying a better 6-cell pack if you are really looking for performance - or make the switch to NiMH or LIPO if you are looking for serious speed.
