Re: "THUNDERBIRD 2" RC Slope Soar - Aerobatics Testing

That is beautiful! Love it. Wish I had some place nearby like that to try some slope flying. Well, maybe somewhere more 'bunny-hill' like for me - not having done any slope flying before .

Thanks for the vid.

Re: "THUNDERBIRD 2" RC Slope Soar - Aerobatics Testing

Steve is one of our most innovative designers and a highly skilled pilot. He has a strong Science fiction interest and even though he flies regular models, he dabbles in bringing some far out designs to the slope. If you look at his Avatar, it shows his "Starship Enterprise" model. There are some very interesting developments coming about with this design, so keep tuned. I am sure Steve will elaborate in due time.
Our Lawrencetown Fly-in drew over 40 models from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and even had a US flier drop in on us.
We don't have the highest slope but it a turbulence free slope covering a wide range of wind directions.
If anyone will be in the area we would welcome you.

Re: "THUNDERBIRD 2" RC Slope Soar - Aerobatics Testing

thx uberjay - i responded (again!) in the vid thread -

hey john! fancy seeing you here - thx for that - and yes we had an incredible Slopefest indeed (John O' is a master designer and builder of high performance gliders - http://www.windandwavemodels.com/)

re the enterprise to which johnny O' referred ... here's the RCCanada thread for progress of the New Enterprise "Future Ship" based on Andrew Probert's artistic design -
https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=195551

- i'm supposed to be promoting it, so there's some videos and links to the Enterprise In Space project in the thread, and i'll keep the thread updated on the build(s). can also come "like" us on facebook, that would be great - we go "live" online soon - that will be really exciting.

That is a great looking model Stephen, An improvement on the original tv series version. Hope to see more of it soaring the ridge.
