j-coles, do you mean the Baptist Church at Westover, near Safari?

I'm off work for the next 14 days. Would like to soar with others.

I sloped with an Alula.

Thanks.

i dont know the name of the church but westover IS on the map and the church sits on the hill [or midway]

the heads or due north and due south

i find the site better for light thermal flying rather than strong ridge lift

the air gets pretty horizontial at the crest of the hill and the ridge lift lessens with strong winds

i fly DHL so i prefer using the hill for extra AGL ,i have flown there many times and had thermals come up both faces at the same time

Kick ass

We were slopeing blue mountian in colling wood. east of the mountian looking towards the lake.

Kind of a downer nobody from RCC joined us eh.

Man the lift was turbo amazing.

A brick could fly in that much lift easily.

The middle of Georgian peaks is usefull information to me as I don't have a GPS. Next time there are north winds and I have spare time I will check this site out. Did you need permission or have to pay for access? Where did you park? How did you get to your parking location?

mm yrs ago it was known as ;streaking the peaks becuase they didnt want you in there BUT you could just go further down the ridge and yet still be flying in the same ridge lift

i flew hanggliders there in the eighties ,the lift goes way out front and can be very smooth becuase the lack of any in- land turbulence

on one occation i landed on the beach at craig leth camp site

further south in the beaver valley the cliff known as old baldy is the more impressive thermal site also which requires a west wind but landing is on luanch only

heres luanch
