See here. 35A CC35 or Align 35A ESC should be fine according to several threads I checked. 45A will just give more headroom. Adjust your pinion to reduce current as required.

Ouch - that sounds expensive!

The price of the Kontronik ESCs may shock you. They are great ESCs, but you pay a premium price for them. I use a Kontronik Jazz80 on my Trex 500 and it cost more than $300. The Jazz40 is ~$200. Check out the prices.

The CC45 that you had costs ~$125. That's quite a bit less and the CC is a great ESC.

Others are using 35A ESCs with good results. Your mileage is obviously varying.

Hope you get it sorted out to your satisfaction without frying too many more ESCs.

Re: what esc for scorpian -8 draw 52 amps should i use?

hey guys i have an apology to make seems that the 35 amp esc is quit capable of handling the scorpian -8 power BUT it would seem that you would have to use a battery wth a c rating of 20 or over...... which is good news as i speedily pulled out ol trusty the flightpower evo lite v2 2500mah 3s 30c battery and sheBlam the dust on my trusty rocket ship turned into well........dust? and it was off. My wife pleased as punch smiles and says" i guess you wont be needing that cash for a new esc then eh? I happily agreed with here as she walked back inside only to realize to myself as i happily landed my heli to recharge the battery" i only have ONE of these awesome batteries..........honeeeeey.

another day in the heli pilots life

thanks to great hobbies for the fix, and all those who contributed with info
