Re: First gasser set up

I always do cg fuel tank empty. And most ARf companies seem to always make the plane stupid nose heavy when balanced according to the manual. All the 3dhs and most areoplus planes from what I've seen balance at the back edge of the wing tube for 3d flying
. Depending on the flyer even farther back. My 30cc mxsr started out with my batts up behind the cowel ring by the fuel tank. Now their both back at the rudder servo and could go farther for my style of flying lol. I usually go a little behind where they Reccomend and then adjust from a there.

Re: First gasser set up

I just finished my first gasser set up, Aeroplus 30cc Sbach.

I was going to ask about CG on my build thread, but just went with what I thought, which was half tank of fuel, wheels down, used a small square of tape to mark the recommended location on the wings & balanced with my fingers.

It turned out to be pretty much bang on.

It is the same plane, so that should work out. How did it fly?

It was a windy day, needed a bit of aileron trim, and some down trim, but it flew good. Only got 2 flights, video link is on the build thread. I have a choke servo up forward, & motor weight may be different than yours, using 12oz aftermarket tank. Battery placement was about 1/4 inch behind wing tube, 2600 LiFe, & no ignition battery.

Re: First gasser set up

Brodie what size of fuel line are you using on your EME 35? I turned the high needle out like you suggested but it was still way lean. It is because I am at sea level or more likely my fuel line is to small. I can only get 6500 rpm with a 19x10 prop after running 3 tanks though it.

Re: First gasser set up

I use the same size tubing at I do on all my planes 3 mm I think in the blue and the bigger sizes tygon . Are you using the stock muffler. We found it restrictive over a pitts. On the eme the fuel tubing slides on not bad I use tie wraps to hold it. Currently my fuel setup on the eme is the blue hose that comes with the 16oz 4titude tank from the tank to the carb

Re: First gasser set up

Stock exhaust with a falcon 20/8 cf I beleive in ontario Trevor opened the high a half turn richer and. 1/16 leaner on the low from factory setting when he did testing and got 6900. But because of your elevation you will have to play with the top end find peak richen a couple hundred then find your good transition on the bottom and re check the top end.
