Talking Mig-17C Upgrades to Composite

Hi Guys,
After applying fiberglass resin to the wings on my next Mig-17 that I was intending to have finished for this season, the next day I found the resin did not cure in several locations. Looking at this mess, I decided to take a second shot at making composite wings for the model since I made the moulds about 8 or 9 years ago. At that time the additional weight of the compoiste wing wasn't good being nearly twice as heavy as the foam core method. But because the model has returned to a 70 mm EDF setup which is a lot lighter than the HW-609, I figured, why not.
They actually turned out pretty darn good, total weight out of the mould is 3.5 oz for each wing. I also like the fact that I can make these wings faster than making the foam core parts. These wings reduce the total parts count by about 24.
The large fiberglass item next to the fuselage is the 37mm cannon fairing. I still have to make the fairings for the twin 23 mm cannons on the other side and perhaps I'll do the stab as a fiberglass item as well. It's solid balsa and very light, so maybe not, I'll have to see.
Any comments and suggestions are welcomed.
I won't be raising the cost of the kits either......which reminds me, gotta renew my domain account.
Attached are a few pic's of the experiment.
