Smithers/Houston BC Event info
(posting this for Ted, contact info below...R)
FUN FLY AND AIR SHOW Houston , B. C. Airport Father’s Day Weekend (June 16-21) FUN FLY RC pilots of helicopters, jets and planes are welcome at Houston airport, just off Highway 16, 10 minutes West of Houston, from noon on Tuesday, June 15 until Monday, June 21, for a Fun Fly. We will fly from the airport runway, which is over 3, 000 feet long and well removed from any residences. This airport has very little traffic, and a NOTAM will be posted for the interval of the Fun Fly. As usual, only MAAC or AMA members will be allowed to fly. AIR SHOW A static display and R.C. Model Air Show is scheduled for Saturday, June 19, from 11:00 until 3:00. Experienced pilots interested in doing one or more demonstration flights during the air show are requested to e-mail Ted Dean for a registration form, so we can start planning. Some pilots are planning to bring planes for the static display only. Great! There will be a prize, of $1000.00 value, for the best public’s choice scratch built and a prize, of $500,00 value, for the best ARF. (If you bought an ARF, you’ve got an ARF, no matter how much you modified it.) We will provide free entrance to the Air show for all Fun Fly pilots and their families. In addition, a free steak and prawn supper is provided Saturday evening for all pilots and their families, as well as a free pancake breakfast Sunday morning. A public pay canteen will be available Saturday noon. Dry camping is available on the site, with campfires in the evenings, for participants. Your pets are welcome, but they must be on a leash for the weekend, for safety reasons, and we do ask that you clean up behind them. You probably have further questions, so please feel free to contact Dave Hopper or Ted Dean. Hope to see you there. Re: Smithers/Houston BC Event info
Hi fellows. I have been going to this flyin for 5-6 years now and in my opinion it is very worthwhile going to. The flying off the paved runway is a new experiance for us grass fliers.
The people from both of the clubs are excellent ,and very entertaining. This is a must go to event for me. So ,see you there. Taz

Re: Smithers/Houston BC Event info
I'll be there with the 1/2 scale Spacewalker and a couple of regular sized planes.
I've just taken delivery of a Moki 400cc radial. If I have the time to build a test stand, I might bring it up for a couple of demo runs (40in. prop!)
