Jack's the resident expert on hammers! I have one that we made out of a 930 Case tractor drive axle, two whacks better do it, most wouldn't be able to lift it for the third....

A picture says a thousand words.

Yet we still need to add six stinking characters.

Dumb!

You are correct. They do settle down and behave differently after a few gallons as opposed to new.
But we can get a good feel of the motor on the first few runs. You can tell if the motor is going to perform or not, if its going to be an easy motor use or not.

And everything is purely subjective

Nice little unit.

DA70

All the bolts are red aluminum . Head, crankcase and carb bolts.
The diaphram cover plate is a nice red anodized and engraved piece.
Atmospheric pressure holes are on the sides.

Called DA today to see if there were any updates for the 70.
Tony was on the other end of the phone
He checked the serial number and said yes there is a reed valve update.
It's a new set of reeds with a reed doubler to stiffen the reeds and keep them from over extending and breaking. I guess there have been reports of some reeds breaking.
So he is throwing the new set of reeds and doublers in the box with the headers I ordered.
4 to 10 days for delivery .
Very nice Brad. I absolutely love mine...I'll never buy a single again!!

I'm planning dual mtw headers into Plane Benders new 35cc tuned pipes.
Airframe is an Eastern Mafia secret for now
But right now, it is planned as a winter build.
