Re: DLE20 RA Brand new, problem.

You have fuel to the carb but no fire? Or no fuel making to the carb.
Have you checked to see if the needles are all the way in for some reason.
Double checked you ign setup
Checked for spark
Plug gapped properly
Squirted some fuel in the carb to wet the diaphragms so they will suck good sometimes when their dry this is required

Re: DLE20 RA Brand new, problem.

An old engine guru around here always told me if a motor situs to long the rubber diaphram gets dry and won't funtion as advertised. Or sometimes it will curl and not seal so you have to mold it back when it's wet. Couple ideas anyway.

I found that the 17x6 xoar was a good prop for the dle 20.

Re: DLE20 RA Brand new, problem.

I have the same motor and had the same problem. Fixed mine with the 'carb' mod. All of the intake parts have to be sanded flat on a smooth surface with 400 grit paper. This includes the carb body face, reed cage (including pedal surfaces) and reed cage body. Works like a charm now. Try googling for instructions. Steve

Re: DLE20 RA Brand new, problem.

I think the DLE's are notorious for having a bad seal between the reed and the reed block.

Everything in your carb has to be sealed tight for it to create the vacuum required to draw fuel. One reason they work better once they are wet because any of the small air leaks seal up with fuel/oil.

Here's a little tutorial: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tips...block-mod.html

Are you able to see any fuel coming up the line from the tank when you flip it with the choke on?

I just recently got advice from a member of my club to solder the hole closed in the choke plate. I don't have anything to compare to, but my new EME 35 pulled fuel up to the carb in just a few flips, and popped after a few more. Could be something to try???

Re: DLE20 RA Brand new, problem.

A good way to prime these carbs is to use your refueling pump on the carb inlet and force fuel into the carb. It might take several hours for the fresh fuel to dissolve the gum and soak into the rubber.

Re: DLE20 RA Brand new, problem.

Glad we could help that's what rcc is for . Those motors are sweet hearts and will run for ever. A 16 oz tank should get you half hour flights lol
