Guys

I have a JR PCM 10X. I hooked up my datasafe and no joy. Puter keeps telling me I have to select the com port manually. OK, so I go throught the list and try them all and still no connection to the interface. Anyone here ever run into this??
I'm going to have the internal battery changed and Steve said I may lose data Well, I don't want that. I'm just about ready to bust this thing in half. HELP!

Frank

Frank,

Is it USB or a 9 pin DIN connection from the Data Safe to the PC?

How many Comm ports do you see on your puter?

HAve you tried hooking everything up to the puter first with the DataSafe "ON" then power up the PC and see if Windows sees the new hardware?

Jim
Ya, I tried shutting it down, power up, then hook it up and every variation possible. No joy yet. I got a reply over on the giants. A fella sent me some updates he got from JR but when I try to open it says the file is corrupted. I sent Horizon and email. I'll have to wait and see I guess.

Hi Frank,

Is this the 10x that you purchase from me? If so, I did use the datasafe program with it, so I know it does work. From the sounds of it, your com port may not be set up correctly. Unfortunatly, I don't recall what the correct set up should be. But, do ensure that the com (serial) port is enabled in your BIOS.

HeyJim!

How are ya man? Yep, this is the one I bought from you, works awesome by the way. Regarding the bios that's exactly what my wife said, she's the puter expert around here, so maybe tonight she'll have a go at it. I'll let you's know when I get this going. Thanks!
