Help Guys. Myself and Ron Forster our club president are running a weekly program for troubled teens. It is conjunction with the school board, social services and the police. These kids are one step from jail. They have had home, school and legal problems. We are building an RC plane as a project.

The program is teaching team work, following instructions, discipline etc and fun. Like everything today, there is no budget and we have scrounged just about everything from either our own personal stock or local club members. We expect to be flying by April/May. We spend 2.5 hours a week at a local school in our dedicated "plane room". working with the kids.

We are building a PT 40 from a kit. We have just about everything we need to get it up and flying, we have finished the fuselage and tail feathers and are starting on the wing next week, but this is what we still need:

JR receiver channel 50
JR switch and battery pack
4 servos
2 rolls of mono

We expect to fly the plane "Choices 1", and put all the kids names on it as pilots, that have been in the program, scrounge the parts again and do it all again next year. We will probably hanger the plane and transplant radio gear and engine for the next project, with a whole new bunch of troubled teens.

If you can donate some keeper stuff, that would be great, if you can lend us some stuff and have it returned in June, that would work too.

Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks for considering it.

John,
I too can donate a roll or two fo covering, if you need it let me know. I can also donate a few bottles of CA glue (thin, medium or thick).

I am sure I can send you some servos, maybe not 4 but at least a pair. They are probably airtronics ends on them, but I will change them to JR leads.

If you need and engine for the project, I have an OS 40 FSR and an OS FP 40 that both have mufflers and would do the trick. Yours for the asking.

You are doing something very special, and thats awesome.

email me:

acoholic@nt.net

PS I can also supply hardware, etc whatever else I can if you need it...

Thanks for all the help guys. I was telling Ron about the response and he is blown away.

So far I have:

Monocote / Thanks to Dennis Pratt
Battery Pack and switch / Thanks to Bob Hudson
2 Servos / Thanks to Andrew Coholic
2 Servos / Thanks to Gary Maker

What's amazing is that the only guy I've ever met before in person is Dennis Pratt ( at Tillsonburg Nats). What a sport. You guys are amazing.

Thanks for offering the extra stuff, but we are only accepting what we really need.

Now if I can only get a hold of a JR receiver on Channel 50?????

John, Why are "locked into" a JR receiver on Ch 50? One of you guys must have a JR tx on Ch 50 !! :

Maybe someone has ax RX for a different radio system you could use.
Or maybe someone has a complete ( obsolete to them) system they might be ready to donate. :

Keep your options open.

Bob

Good comment. I am not locked to a JR Channel 50rx. I have checked my crystal inventory and I can match a pair of JR crystals. I just donated an extra JR transmitter I had to the cause and it had a 50 in it.

Now needed: any JR or JR compatible receiver.

John;
I think it is very nice to show to the young people that the world is bigger than their imagination.
I have a JR receiver without crystal. if you need it for the kids projects just let me know.
Also I have a Carl Goldberg electric glider kit (Electra) with motor new in box. you may use it for your next project.
If you need any hardware(links, tee nuts, wheel, thanks, Balsa wood,engine,magazine.... ...) just post them , I belive most of us have a lot of stuff that we may not use them in the rest of our life.
