the other nighr i was out flying and my htrottle wasnt working correctly something was very off about it. so i tried tunning it and nothing seemd to work right. dont worry im going somewhere with this...(i realize this isnt an engine forum) anyways i was looking at my rudder and realized that it wasnt doing what it should have been doing..it was stuck to one side and wouldnt go past a certain spot. so i listen to my servos with the engine off today and one made a grinding sound (the same sound i thought was a stripped servo but with later investigation found the problem) and the problem was that the potentiometre straps(hold downs) had let go!!!! if you have a used radio or a radio you may have dropped please check outthe straps that hold down the potetiometres. they may be as broken as mine were!! good thing i had quit flying for the noigght because my rudder channel and my throttle channel had let go!!! good thing those are the less used and not as hard to work around channels because if it would have been my ailerons or even thank goodness it wasnt my elevator then my plane would have been toast and presented a huge huge huge danger to anyone a the field. just thought id let everyone know about this incident for safety sakes.

I once received a radio in the mail that had one of the two plastic straps holding the gimbals (the thing the stick is attached to) broken. The stick seemed loose and the trim also felt bad. Upon opening the case I noticed the problem. Yup, having the second strap break and the stick come loose while flying would be disaterous....
