LOL Dick

You have to be careful here, there's a few DA police that'll try and get you to migrate to the wrong side of the tracks. Stick with me where everything is smoooooth and powerful on the right side-o-the tracks.

I have a 3W 110CS, just weighed it with what you asked for..6 lbs. 12 oz.

Thumbs up Re: 3W 110 Classic

Wingburner,

Thanks for the info. Fear not, I am going to "that" side of the tracks

Do you have any performance info you could share? Here or PM.

Airframe will be an Extra 260 106" wing, weight around 27/28 pounds.

Do you think it is enough engine

Any advantage to the Competition Series, except for HP?

DR

Re: 3W 110 Classic

I have yet to run the 110, but on my 106 if memory serves me right, a 28/10 Mejz. 65-6600. with the Pefa 55 cans..I believe for the 110 they want you to run the 70 cans (if you're running cans that is)

As you likely know, these engines are absolute monsters when it comes to pull ..Nobody matches them in the midrange for torque where it counts

On my 30 lb Carden the 106 takes it hard vertical.Just a spec in seconds. At 27/28 lbs will be insane.

Re: 3W 110 Classic

Wingburner,

Would it be possible to tell me the weight of the 3W 106 Competition Series?

Just trying to get my ducks in a row.

Thanks in advance,

Re: 3W 110 Classic

I don't know the weight and the engine is in a plane. My 106CS has the new case, same as the 110 , so I'll go out on a limb and say they weigh the same.

Re: 3W 110 Classic

Ok, thanks...... tell me about the "new" case. AI has a few new 106CS models remaining in stock, ali reed blocks. Would you do the 106CS or the 110 Classic?

Re: 3W 110 Classic

Attached is a close to scale image of a 3W 106 carb, hopefully the 110 is close to the same layout.

Can anyone tell what kind of clearance there will be between the header pipe and the reed block? I Would like to use a ball link on the both ends of the throttle linkage.

The header drop illustrated is 2.375" which is correct for the H9 35% Extra 260.
