70 plus equivelent motor 5 cell

I purchased a Dual Sky 4260 motor 1 year ago and it had amazing power .----------------------------The only problem this motor screeched about 1/2 throttle and has been a pain in the butt every since I bought ita year ago. I have spent hours changing bearings and shaft but no better .So i AM GIVING UP ON IT as A LARGE LEMON.--
So now I would like a comparable motor that will operate 5 cells and put out like a 70 plus engine.

Please suggestion

Re: 70 plus equivelent motor 5 cell

I had a U-Can-Do 46 powered by an OS 70 4 stroke.

I converted it to electric power with a Hacker A50-14S brushless motor and a 5 cell battery. The performance increase was very satisfactory.

Its highly unlikely that bearings alone is causing the problem. Have you tried increasing the timing on your speed control? Many motors make a sound like bad bearings when the motor goes out of sync with the ESC and advancing the timing often solves the problem.

Look at the scorpion 4020 series.
What are you putting it on ? That determines your kv and power handling needs.
Also what capacity and c rated 5s packs are you using ?

Hi Sparky.

How you adjust the ESC timing will depend on which one you have. If you can find some instructions for the ESC it will be described in them. Some require a separate programmer but most can be put in the programming mode using various stick positions on your transmitter. Can you tell me what make of ESC you are using. You may well end up with the same problem with a new motor if you use the same ESC. Sorry I can't be of more help.
