OK so I have a Gaui 425 huricane and it has 35mm x 16mm x 25mm deep servo pockets. Smaller than standard servos and larger than my Blade 400 servos. What servos are everyone useing? Has anyone been able to hog them out big enuf for standard servos? I dont need anything crazy as it will be a scale project. It seems to have different side frames than the standard plastic Huricane.

Re: Gaui 425 servos?????

You should be able to fit standard servos in there. The frame is exactly the same as the 550. If you need to you can dremel out the servo hole to fit them.

The other option is to use mini servos like the futaba s9650.

Re: Gaui 425 servos?????

Many people also use the spektrum 821 servos that come with the radios. You can find them cheap for $20 each or so in the classifieds sometimes. I wouldn't do hard 3D or FBL with them but fine for sport flying in a 500 size.

Re: Gaui 425 servos?????

All of the above mentioned servos are too big. Thanks anyway. Just had a better look and standard servos are definitely out. There does not seem to be enuf room to hog out the frames. It is the fiber frame? Same as this

What is everyone else using?

Re: Gaui 425 servos?????

Since that's not a stock frame I'm not sure what everyone else is using is going to help you. If standard servos won't fit then look at mini servos.

Those hole dimensions are the size of mini servos. The 9650 is 36 x 15 x 29 but the tabs are probably right around 25 so you'd be fine. So 9650, 9257, JR 3500, align ds510... etc.

Manitoba Re: Gaui 425 servos?????

normal for after market servos to not fit. I had to shave down my blade 400 openings to make the good one fit in. I used a flat file. I have sinced evolved to a dremel.

So what, its just the frame. It's like shaving the heads on a engine. You're doing it for performance. lol

Re: Gaui 425 servos?????

I use Turnigy 930 metal gear servos from HK on my 500 got about 120 flights with no issues with the servos at all. They are a bit smaller than standard size they may be what you need.
