Being Canadian!
Since the "Are we nuts" thread is turning into a "We are tough as Canadians" I thought I would ask the question......
As Canadians, what do we do better or different than our neighbors to the south or over the pond? Obviously we have a building season and a flying season. What else is different?

Re: Being Canadian!
The four seasons comes to mind:
Winter Getting Over Winter @#$%@%$ BUGS!!!!! Getting Ready for Next Winter Also know as Snow More Snow Road Repair Snow Tim Hortons up here also just seems to have a different flavour. To simplify radio work, our Canadian Heli ops in Afghanistan are under the "Molson" call sign. There is also the nice list of definitions from Jeff Foxworthy. I imagine the list will be added to rapidly, but never met a resident south of the border that adds "eh" to the end of every sentence.

Re: Being Canadian!
Ever since indoor became a popular RC option, I have shied away from winter flying in Canada now. I find I can keep myself out of the cold and my fix at indoor events. Call me a baby but I spent enough years flying out in the cold and snow. I've had enough. Nowe I find myself envious of my snowbird RC friends that take off to warmer southern climates when the snow starts to fly. Lucky Buggers!!
In the fall I will fly as long as there is no snow on the ground (read: Above freezing) Abroad, I have found that the guys in the UK are pretty tough. I did a lot of flying there for a spell between 2010 and 2011. Seems like the wind there never ends.(at least in the neck of the woods I was flying in) Its always blowing gale force or higher, especially in the winter months. Winters is no snow but the damp chilly wind drives into your bones. Summers weren't too bad but still windy all the time. And its almost always grey and crappy. Especially in weather in the winter months. Yet these guys continue to fly all year round in this crap. They are pretty tough in my book and have earned my respect.

Re: Being Canadian!
I fly from a field that faces south. This time of year, I like to fly on grey, cloudy days. That way the sun is not right in your face.
