Gimbal Stabilisation With HK KK2.0 Board?

Hi Guys

Has anyone tried the camera gimbal stabilisation function on the new 1.5 firmware on the KK2.0 board? Flashing my board to the new firmware is on my list of things to do next week as it is supposed to go back to the regularly scheduled monsoons here then. Just was wondering if it would be worth installing my gimbal and giving it a go.

Cheers

MJ

I've not tried it yet either. I've read it only engages when armed and under throttle so its a bit tricky to setup and test right now.

I hooked up a few servos to play around with it.

Yes you need to be armed and throttled up for it to work.

Start with your gains at around 500 to get a reasonable amount of travel from the servos.

Thanks HN.

When you hooked up the servos were they "steppy" or jittery or smooth? Reason I ask is I have a HFP board and when I first got it, the servos (digital Hitec) were very steppy. They fixed it 2 firmware releases later. Before they fixed it I was getting a lot of jello with my GoPro2 because of the steppy operation of the servos.

May have to try the KK2.0 stabilisation anyway.

Cheers

MJ

Well here is my quick and dirty gimbal. I really should get some better servos. This is with the same 500 500 settings I was playing around with, could use a bit more on roll but otherwise its good.

Test video looks like it works pretty good.
