If these newer engines still have rubber seals on the end of the crankcase, the seal will get no lubrication with the sealed brg installed, which it needs or its life expectancy will be very short. Crank seals need to be tight or crankcase pressure will be lost. If they're using sealed brgs and doing away with the outer seals, maybe a way to cut costs. Don't know about this one.

The Turnigy does have a separate seal outside of the sealed bearing. Perhaps with today's technologies and advancements in plastics, (such as PTFE) oil is not required on the seal.

The DLE does not have a separate seal, just 2 sealed bearings at the drive/prop end of the crank. They must provide adequate sealing or the engine wouldn't have such good revues.
