I too am relatively new to electric flight and in particular LiPo chemistry and I'm sure that many of the respondents here speak with authority and experience. However, when all is said and done, there's nothing like going to the "horses mouth" have you considered contacting Apogee for their recommendation?

Alright, been busy at work, so I'm just checking back.

Thanks alot again for the input.

I have read somewhere that dents accellerate crystalization and that someone has been in contact with someone who works for one of the manufacturers, and they do "body work" on packs. Not like a hit with a mallet, but more of a massaging tap to work the dent out. I'm tempted to try it, but I need to get desperate first I think. I don't want to cause damage to anything, not for 100 bucks.

I'm going to need to get a balancer, I'll plug that in and balance the pack before I charge it, under close supervision of course, but not so close as I will get burned if it blows on me.

I did not call the manufacturer. I trust the input of fellow flyers, and I may get some better suggestions rather than "Get a new one"

and finally, Grumpy.

I had numerous discussions with the "electric guys" about the pros and cons of electric over glow. They always bring up the cost of fuel. They always said it's pennies a flight, as opposed to whatever I consumed in fuel. I think the 15 or so flights I had on my Mini Funtana have cost me $200 dollars in "fuel" so far. Not including the price of connectors and electricity (or the pack I will need to replace "Bent"). I know the per flight cost could go down, as long as I don't crash.
I now find out that the Lipos are only good for a few hundred charges, and you have to have several of them to fly continuously. I am now reflecting on this, and I think the ones that were using this as a factor were using Nicads.

Thanks alot everyone. I'll put the hammer away, buy a balancer, if that doesn't look good, I'll research disposal of these and get a new one.

In the meantime, I have a Mini Edge to go wreck the other pack in!!!

Mike
