RCGF 26 cc engine difficulties

I am wondering if there is anyone local (Etobicoke) who might be willing to rent themselves out for an hour or so and give me a hand getting my engine running. I am having some difficulties and could use some wise advice. If there is a knowledgeable person, who would be willing to come to my apartment for a little while, please leave a note here.

Thanks,

Graham

Re: RCGF 26 cc engine difficulties

I have managed to mount it to a test stand (homemade but works). I can flip start it choked, wait til it shuts down and then start it with choke open. Can't make throttle have any effect then. If I throttle up, it just dies. Now I can run it at some sort of idle, but then it dies down pretty quick. Can't seem to keep it running long enough to play with high/low speed adjustments.
Any suggestions?
I am trying to find new spark plug, but the one in it works. Just not sure how well.
Cleaned carb filter and ensured lots of air flow at back. It is bolted to a board though, possibly blowing air back in?

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Sounds like it could be a tank issue. Is the tank vented, and the pick-up line and clunk in the proper spot? How is the tank plumbed?

Re: RCGF 26 cc engine difficulties

Right now I have a tank sitting high on the test stand with a single line running to the engine, and a tube just venting above the outline. Nothing fancy, vent line is not in the fuel, but I will check that again. Should it be vented some other way? Pickup line is clunked and below the vent line.

Re: RCGF 26 cc engine difficulties

Is this a new engine, if not, what do you know about it's history? What fuel line are you using......was the hall sensor already installed. Need more of a history....

Its got to be fuel or fire issues. Sounds like a fuel issue
