Turnigy 2810 EDF Outrunner 4000kv

Has any one use this motor Turnigy 2810 EDF Outrunner 4000kv for 55/64mm from HK?

I used it on a metal 10 blades 50mm edf and it pulled 200wats but no power to fly the F18 skyangel jet, I have a 30a ESC runing and motor is runing a 22a.

I don't know if the motor is just not that strong or it is just a fluck that mine is not good!
I was thinking on ordering the 5000kv but now I don't know.

Any one knows what motor can I use for a 50mm edf 10 blades impeller? For a 3s batt and also one for a 4s batt.

Thanks

Re: Turnigy 2810 EDF Outrunner 4000kv

Those numbers sound way off although I admit I don't have that combo.
How old is your battery? Are you sure your ESC is set up correctly (especially the throttle range settings).
Old or tired Lipos will produce much less power than one in good condition as EDFs have pretty high amp draw (compared to a prop plane setup).
I doubt the motor is the reason for your low power output if it runs at all.

Thanks

I hate to say it, but looking at the specs that's about all this motor is good for. 22amps X 11 volts = 242watts peak. You may be able to get a little more by switching to a 45C lipo, but not sure if it would be enough.

You're probably better off going with a complete unit such as this, and run 4S

I think you just might fry it on a 10 blade, I have motors that size and have run them on 6 blade and 5, big power consumption diff from the 5 to the 6 blade, can't even imagine trying to spin a 10 blade... you may see fire out the end of the cone with that!!!!

Ok apparently Eric was right the ESC was not set up right although I'm sure I did set it up
Test results:
The same batt freshly charged see video
This time I could fell the pull on the EDF unit can't measure it but according to manufacture it should be around 550g

Re: Turnigy 2810 EDF Outrunner 4000kv

Hi guys i'm back to square one, put everything together and tested it before coming to work and no power so connected the watt meter and got 160watts so i think my ESC is not good.
i did calibrate it with the radio
i will do more tests tonight and try a different ESC but i will wait for the stock combo to arrive and i will install those instead.

does any one know more or less how many watts is a gram of thrust, i mean the motor is suppose to produce 550g of thrust and i will like to know how many whats i should expect from it since i cant measure the thrust on grams.
