Talking Customs on Strike?

Ordered some shrink tubing from China, on the 12th April,
It left Hong Kong on the 14th April,
Arrived in Canada on the 15th,
Been in customs ever since,
Maybe they think it's a new type of plastic explosive?

Re: Customs on Strike?

Similar experience here. Ordered some parts from Focalprice.com in HK, arrived in Canada on April 19th and it is still in customs. An order from HobbyKing arrived in Canada also on April 19th and it cleared customs in 1 day. What's going on?

Re: Customs on Strike?

Hi

Don,t worry guys , it,s not only customs . Canada Post has been playing games for weeks now . I,ve had , lets say , " strange things " happen to my parcels . Which normally don,t happen . PURE BS .

Re: Customs on Strike?

I think it has to do more with our strong dollar and a growing level of trust with Chinese merchants.

Re: Customs on Strike?

Yup, my last order left China on April 18th. Arrived in Canada April 19th. Been sitting at customs ever since. I ordered a charger, some connectors, and heat shrink tubing. Maybe they think I'm making a bomb or something.

Re: Customs on Strike?

A few years back I was sent a fishtank heater from the us as a replacement for a defective one. a month later I called and asked what was up as they said I would have it in a week. 4 days later came home and there was one on my doorstep. 2 or 3 weeks later the first one they shipped showed up beat to hell and all taped up in customs tape. almost 2 months in customs... They are a joke.

Re: Customs on Strike?

Maybe the guy clearing parcels called in sick for a couple of days in April and all your parcels are stacked and stuck in a little room. They will get back to them when they get caught up on all the others parcels coming in.
Oh wait, the parcels never end. Ha! Ha!

Don't worry guys. It happened to me also. Parcel arrived in Canada in 4 days from ordering and then sat for 3 weeks in Customs. I actually had two packages ordered after the stuck parcel and arrive before it did.

Sometimes it is a waiting game.

Hey Dean
My order that was stuck also had a charger, heavy silicon wire and connectors in it. I was also thinking bomb inspection . It was never opened.
