Hey Pedro... welcome to RC Canada!

The trick is simply to follow the full-size drawings! The drawings tell you 2.5 degree offset (hence the SWB mount) and show you the vertical and horizontal centerlines of the firewall and the offset for the motormount towards the left side of the plane.

After that, you just have to have faith that Denis at Carden got the rest of the build right and the cowling right and it should all work out. If the spinner is out by 1/16 or 1/32 from the cowl at the end, you can always tweek the cowl a bit to line up perfectly behind the spinner!!

Cheers

Trev

Re: 126" Carden Extra 260 w/DA170 RE3

A bit more progress this afternoon!

Both truss sides are done for the fuse. The sheeting is currently edge glued together and drying so I'll get it installed on the trusses tomorrow.

I just noticed - I forgot to install 2 hardpoints for the hatch hold-downs on one of the fuse sides!! (can you see the missing blocks in the pics?) Back to the workshop I go!!

Not sure where Trev got the idea I was going to use 8711's. I'll be using 7955 and 7950.

Sweet!!!

The 7950's are strong on A123, but insane on 2-cell Lipo - very, very strong!!

Re: 126" Carden Extra 260 w/DA170 RE3

Yep. I like all the weight savings stuff. I design my own tail wheels for up to a 45lb airplane that weighs only 1.75oz, (1oz lighter that most other tailwheels on the market) so that lets me remove up to 8oz out of the firewall area.

I'm using a 3W170 on pipes.
