Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
Man, what a shmuck I am. Wantoing a Radikal in the spring, I was told this shop had stock (no one in Canada did at the time)
I ordered about $2000 worth of gear, and was charged in full on my credit card, back in April 15, 2010. I was told at that time, all my stuff was in stock (servos, some upgrades, etc) but the Radikal kit I ordered was due in a few weeks time. Two months later, my kit was finally shipped, and I was charged for another item (stator gator) with the freight. WHen I received the shipment, I was very dissapointed to see my servos, stator gator and two metal upgraded parts were not in the box. Of course, I thought since I had ordered, and been charged for, these parts two months prior they would have been picked and set aside. Another month later, and I have a big problem... RRE, specifically Bobby Smith (I assume is the owner) has twice told me the parts were shipped out, and "must have gotten lost". But, after numerous emails, I have asked at least a dozen times for the shipping information, and also a tracking number. I never get a clear answer other than "oh, we are busy" or "we have been out of the shop"... yesterday I emailed for the umpteenth time, and said either send me the tracking number, or I have to call Visa and make a fraud claim. Of course, nothing was sent to me even though I did get an email stating they would get back to me later in the day. I think someone has a big shovel... Since Visa has a 3 month cut off to deal with fraud, and I had only 5 days left, I filed a complaint this morning. We'll see if I get any of my $$ back. I am thinking my $360 US worth of remaining parts are not going to be sent and I am getting ripped off. This is the first time in near 30 years I have been in this hobby that I have had to deal with this. Before this, I have not heard anything about this shop, and I was just taking a chance as they stated originally the Radikals were stocked and ready to ship (it was only after my order was placed was I told it would be "a week or so". My patience is grown thin, but mainly I am very upset that I have been lied to, and cheated out of $360. The money wont change my life one bit - but its the principal of being lied to. Fair warning, I would certainly take my business elsewhere in the future - and thats being pretty kind. AJC

Re: Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
I am sorry to hear about your frustration with a hobby supplier.
Prior to this post I have never heard of RRE Models. http://www.rremodels.com/ Word of mouth is the best type of promotion, especially when you get good service. Unfortunately it also works for crap service, which is the worst type of free advertising you can get. Now that I have heard of them via your negative comments about them, and in consideration of the poor treatment to you, their customer, I will avoid using them. |

If you used a credit card. You should have protection.
I guarantee that when this guy gets a call from the investigators your parts will show up really fast or you will be compensated. |

Re: Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
I've never ordered from them myself, but a quick search on the 'freak reveals that they're an otherwise well reputed dealer with a store front. Sounds like there's just a misunderstanding?

When my credit card was charged back in April, for the FULL amount, and I was told ALL parts were in stock except the Radikal carboin kit, then all parts should have been picked and set aside. It doesnt take 3 months for anyone to get Align 610 servos. I ended up buying then from Great Hobbies. This is a case of lies and being cheated. I am not one to cause a fuss unless I think I have been taken for a ride, and in this case I do. ANyhow, I have filed a claim with Visa (there is a three month window, which by the wayis why I gave them an ultimatum on Friday to either send me a tracking # and shipping info by the end of the day) and I am sure I will get my $$ back, at least most of it. But in ALL my years in the hobby this is my first time dealing with such a dissorganised company and being out right lied to. AJC

Re: Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
I have to agree, you can't really have a "misunderstanding" for 3 months. Either the items are in stock or aren't, either they have shipped or they haven't... pretty straight forward to me.

Re: Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
Sorry I didn't meant to imply that YOU had the misunderstanding. Don't get me wrong, clearly you have been taken for a bit of a ride here. Painting them as thieves and liars I think is a bit knee jerk is all I was saying. I'm sure they aren't intentionally screwing you.
That being said I don't know how they run a business being that disorganized, and to tell you "yeah we shipped it, now go away" without bothering to check their records is absolutely horrid customer service. I've heard of these guys on multiple occasions and it's usually been good, so I suspect this is an isolated case. I'm sure that doesn't make it suck any less though I hope you get it all sorted out one way or the other.

Re: Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
They are not the only ones to not set aside ordered parts. It's also happened to me with your beloved GH.
You simply place your bets and take your chances whenever something needs to be shipped. |

Re: Do NOT deal with RRE Models....
Well, I have waited for parts before from GH but they have never in all the years I have dealt with them, charged me before shipment (unless it was a special order and I agreed).
I got an email this afternoon from one of the guys at Century Helis... I also wrote to them explaining my dissatisfaction with RRE. He said, and I quote: "Basically he owes us quite a bit of money and we've given countless chances already. You should try and get a refund because if he hasn't shipped the parts, he won't be doing so because he probably doesn't have them." Now everything makes more sense... and I am so glad I decided to file a fraud claim with Visa. At least I will have a chance at getting my money back. AJC
