OK, I have to say that Ron Roy and the rest of the Timmins crew put on one heck of a great event! I had such a good time, lots of flying, lots of good eats, lots of great prises. Their field has been updated and is top notch!
We had a balloon burst event (your truly hit or cut them all with el 'Cheapo Grande!! ) and there was some superb flying. I would like to thank everyone resposible for the best fun fly I have attended in a while, it was super! I am sad to report I forgot to take pictures but there should be a bunch on the Goldenhawks website soon... Cant wait for next year!! Also, was super to meet Kevin and Cecil from the Soo and of course the other guys I get to chat with a few times a summer

Timmins "Golden Hawks" Fun Fly
Well Andrew beat me to the "first post" on the Timmins fun fly 'cause he only had to drive for 2 hours where Kevin,Bill Fleet and myself had to drive for 6 hours
I too have to applaud the "Golden Hawks" coordinators for putting on a SUPERB fun fly. As Andrew stated, there were enough prizes for 2 complete rounds of "ticket drawing", a steak supper with all the trimmings and lots of "flying".. They even had RIO hobby Inc. from Chapleau Ont (225km away) there with a load of kits, hobby supplies and fuel. RIO supplied free fuel fill ups to all flyers who wanted it I personally want to thank Ron Roy for "putting us up" at his house for two days, Ahh or should I say,"putting up with us"(Kevin can be a real "hand full") for two days Thanks again Ron, you're a "gratious host" Now getting back to Andrew "I broke all the balloons" Coholic' the only reason he "gottem' all" is that he had a 12oz tank with a 46 Irvine on that twistin', turnin',floppin, low fyin, ground defyin, el cheapo grande of his :P ... What a flyer ( both he and the plane)... But hang on Andrew, I'm bringing the "Fazer" up to the "Tarmac" fun fly and "yous gonna' have sum' competiiiition" I can't wait Cecil |

Hey Cecil, thats an Irvine 53 I only get 20 minutes to a tank... HA!
I look forward to some competition, I hope we can work out some neat events for our fun fly. The balloon thing was my 1st time and I still cant believe the el 'Cheapo didnt bite it... I guess that autopilot was working fine.. I have my jet all fixed up allready, worked on it this afternoon and hopefully at our event I can show you how a landing is supposed to look without the roo bounce... now how about that inverted limbo under the 2 by 4....

AUTO PILOT
You're gonna have to "spot me" 4 balloons for using that "gizmo" : : Inverted "limbo" under a 2x4 ----Guess I'm gonna' have to put a "tail wheel" on the top of the rudder and "grease" the bottom of the fuselage Cecil |

I had a great time. The weather was perfect and the wind behaved itself. Great flying and great people.
It was nice to finally meet Kevin and great to see Cecil and Bill again. Looking forward to seeing you guys from the Sault again at our TARMAC Fun Fly. Here are a few pics (since no one else posted any). I always like to look at pics posted by others.
