Don't worry Andrew, there's still lots of time to fly . That aviator is a nice plane. I hope you get it done before the flying season ends.

Although the day was beautiful, did not get to fly today.
Glow plug troubles on the RAM did not allow it. I had an intermittent problem which showed its ugly face when the plug totally failed. I did not have a spare Rossi 8.
Ah well, next time I guess.

EICAS,
I am using OS #8 plugs in my Wren 54 (on which the RAM 500 is based) and I have the same plug for over 8 hours of running so far. Starts quickly too. I pulled the coil out with a T pin.

Andrew

PS how is your AV8R covered? I ordered some Monokote flat dove gray and insignia blue flat, and some orange. WIll do something similar to Ftank Tiano's model taht was reviewed in the latest RCJI magazine.

Actually, they recommend Rossi 8, and I think I need to change the voltage if i have to use the OS8, I tried an OS, A3 it blew it almost instantly.
Will look at some options.
Actually I bought my plane from Kim Foster.
Pic attached.

Looks great! Definitely high vis scheme... nice!

Doesnt the ecu allow you to set the plug voltage? My GB and Fadec units both do allow the user to set the plug voltage, so it glows hot but not too hot

Yes it does, by selecting the ignition menu and adjusting the throttle stick, the voltage gets adjusted.
Will look for an R8 today, if I cannot find it I will get the OS8 and adjust voltage first.

I like the scheme, and I will change the wheels and use Intairco wheels and brakes on the main since the Dubro are too soft and flatten at the bottom because of the weight, and although it rolls OK on grass, the harder non-flatening wheels will work better.

I am using a Gyro on the nose and rudder although again as mentioned above, it most likely is not needed.

I am hoping the weather holds so I can attempt the test flight, although the plane has been flown before but not my me.

Will keep you posted. Took some pictures and I will have a friend take a video as well.

Regards

EICAS, I was ready to come out to MMFC, but something came up at the last minute, so couldn't make it.

No probs Maqsood, you would have been disappointed since i did not fly.
It was busy last night with a few helicopter fliers.
See you soon.

There is a report in this current issue of RCJI about the reaper and a landing gear system to avoid the bouncing you were refering to. I do not like those piano wire landing gear systems

Could scan and emil it to you or fax it.
