online is just fine - o - fine once you know what you need. BUt heck for a true beginner quad, you could pick one up at Best Buy nowadays. You might need some spare props and batteries is all. And then after a week or a month you'll want to get a proper hobbyists' machine because the RTF toys get boring in not too long.

HOwever if you live in certain locations where there is a Great Hobbies, or one of the MANY canadian e-tailers of multicopter bits. Vancouver has many online dealers who will supply guys locally. And happy to say we have a local guy who owns BuyRC.ca and promising to stock a lot of the Emax multicopter stuff I use - though that is yet to materialize.

I would definitely NOT buy any of the multicopter stuff the local hobby shop in Victoria sells, which is a typical LHS - they are specifically the wrong copters to own (eg avoid 'Blade' or "Walkera' anything). But it really depends on what you want to do eventually. DJi stuff is sold in all kinds of places, and might even get a little local support for it, but their stuff is purely only for making gimballed videos, not for flying fun.
I've got the EMAX stock in now and my site is just being updated now, it should all be ready this weekend!

Thanks,
Joshua McDonald

Re: Beginners quad?

I'm interested in looking when your site is back up too. Great hobbies never has stock and I'd rather look west than to Ontario for my needs, plus faster transit times
