Question E Maxx vs E Savage

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Ive been looking into getting another truck and im buying either an e savage or an e maxx. Although im not sure which is better i saw an e savage run and it was fast and it has an aluminum frame i don't much about the e max im guessing its around the same speed. But the emax is mostly plastic. I have no idea which is better any input would help thanks.

Esavage

IMHO - Go with the emaxx because its tougher. With the esavage, you'll be blowing diffs like crazy and the parts are hard to find as it a new truck.

I agree, had them both. You can do the emaxx diff and Revo drive shaft mods to the e-savage, it helps a lot. The plastics on the
e-savage are strong, the driveline is weak, but still its a good truck. For parts support you cant beat the emaxx and remember that most of the tmaxx parts are the same too. Be aware that the e-savage is much smaller than the emaxx, its more like the size of a stampede, the stock tires are garbage too. Keep in mind that the e-savage and Nitro Savage share no parts that are the same. One last thing is that in stock form you can NOT fit saddle packs or 7 cell packs in teh e-savage. You can do a mod for that too, which I did and it worked fine, but with 7 cells youwill be blowing diffs just about everytime you take it out, or you will break a drive shaft.

I was at a local hobby shop which sell booth traxxas and hpi the owner told me the problem with diffs is due to abuse and not from reg or hard driving. But he said that he found the esavage to be better from a value stand point. He also said that many people have same or different problems with the emaxx. I think its a pretty good opinion because he could have told me its crap and try to sell me the more expensive emaxx.
