Super tiger 3000

This engine is frustrating me to the point of drinking. starts first flip every time, Idles well, run great. BUT all of a sudden it quites with no pre-warning. I use XP Super tiger fuel 10% nitro 10% oil content specaily blended for this engine. They like a lower oil content. I am half way thru the third gallon of fuel and it happens just about every flight. at different times into the flight . I just switched to an OS 7L carb from my OS .61 sf. It seems to fit and they look to be the same size. I am going to try it in the morning, if you can help please do

Although you will hear people say they had no problems with THEIR ST3000, I know what you're talking about. I don't think you will solve the problem without changing the carb.I'm not sure if the 7L is the right size carb, I know the 7D usually solves the problem. Perry also makes a carb that is supposed to work well.
Let us know how it goes with the carb change.

I had the same problem with my S2500, S3000, S3250 until I started using 4 stroke plugs in them and leaning out the low end as much as possible. I tried OS carbs and found that they improved transition but did not help much with the engine quitting so I went back to the ST carbs. Those who make the change use OS 7B carbs I believe.

SuperTigre 3000 is one sweet engine.. I had it for years.. I ran cool power supertigre fuel. OS#8 works very time 1st flip she starts right up!.. ran very strong as well. Now that I am into heli. I really hesistated to part with that engine. If the right buyer comes along with best offer.
