Re: another bad report for our hobby

I don't see how this affects our hobby.

They are talking about Military Grade Drones - like a Predator.

These are large aircraft capable of carrying two Hellfire missiles.

Yes they work by remote control - but there is a rather large support system needed to operate them at range... think GPS and Satellite communications with real time capabilities.

I don't know what is in your Flight Line but nothing that I have is quite that big.

Yep, I would think a guided missile to be far more effective than trying to fly that thing into a target so, not too concerned. That's about as low tech as it gets.lol

Re: another bad report for our hobby

I saw that this morning and thought it was April first! The prop tips are way to close to the water and all that sucker is ever going to do is suck up water. It will never get up enough speed to take off. And what kind of amateur uses wooden props these days? They are going to turn into paint brushes before he gets 20 feet. Pretty much harmless in my books.If the offer me free virgins I'll come over and redesign it for them

Re: another bad report for our hobby

I read that in USA today this morning and had a good belly laugh at Iran's "drone" technology...LOL

Take a model airplane and put explosives in it.. OH WOW!!! Great for mickey-mouse warfare. Is that the best their scientific community can do? Hardly military grade. But if that's the best they've got, GREAT!

Re: another bad report for our hobby

Max;
here is the on line article;

https://www.rt.com/news/364258-iran-...suicide-drone/

From what I can tell it is powered by two DLE 55s an interesting design for a flying boat - I think I saw something similar in a 1950 advertisement for a do it yourself plane. The rest of the article is pure Propaganda. (read BS)
