While it's great you figured it out it still doesent make sense. As u know I run several spektrums where antennas are inches away from electric motors ones 4hp plus so this is odd....Patrick stubbs runs spektrum to in all his large 3d planes...wierd!!

Shawn, has nothing to do with the antenna the TX has a defect inside

Like all electronics, prone to failure

AS soon as i move my throttle trim is when is acts up
And after thinking about it ,on my maiden it did serge it as i dropped Two clicks back to idle as i was coming in for a landing, on the second maiden i never moved the trim up until i was taxing out on the strip(pointed to the field) then it took off full throttle.
running in my back yard after 4 min of running i moved my trim down to get my idle down as i hand not set to servo up perfect and it was idling a little to high

I gave your Bro a du dad...look at what that reports and call Horrizon in AM, they have great service and I'm sure they'll sort it out based on all you can tell their tech.

Re: Throtte servo Serging wide open

I have read the cause that "WASADOLL" has mentioned and I can say that I have seen this happen before.

In the ones that I have witnessed, it has everything to do with the radio electronics and how the radio "see's" the range for each channel. Remember, each channel is allocated a range of pulses or oscillations(depending on the brand and circuitry). First channel starts and ends at a specific range, then the next channel picks up where the first channel ends and so on. On some radios (which I would agree would be categorized as "defective" ) the ranges overlap, so that moving the throttle trim can move the channel range into the next channel
I have seen this happen when moving the elevator trim to its limit would suddenly give full aileron

Try to figure that out when in the air!!!

Thanks i was sure it was my DX7 as well ...but i was able to duplicate it with my Bro's DX7 as well last night ..mine will do the surging way more frequently... sending my RX to horizon to get fixed or replaced and the freight is more than the DX7 is worth.so it will be a good Tx for my PhoenixRc flight sim think the best thing to do is go ORANGE
