Anyone out there know where I can get plans for a Hughes 369 ? I figure I can work something out with someone or is there an easier fuse to scratch build. I want to make one for my 500 and 600. I have done some fibreglass work before so I plan on making it out of that unless someone has a better idea.

Re: I'm looking to make a fuse from scratch

That sounds like a heck of a project if you choose to do it from scratch. Check out helibuff's thread on the Cormorant he built from scratch. It was a labour of love

https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=84848

disregard the first 2 posts, they ended up at the start of the thread when RCC had a date glitch, they should have been later in the thread but because of the date issue, they ended up being at the beginning

Re: I'm looking to make a fuse from scratch

Tank you for the reference Max.

bensidus197217 if you want to, have a look at my personel site it is in french for now, in the near futur I will be translating it in english.

Look under projets or just click on the Hughes 500 on the front page it will link you to the scratch building of that fuse I did in 1995.

If you have some question feel free to ask

Yvon,

Gilles

p.s. If you haven't had a chance see Yvon's work, visit his site. Amazing.

Re: I'm looking to make a fuse from scratch

this is one time where I wish I paid more attention in French language class.Very nice work. Did you make a mold plug then mold and work from there. I think if I had specs that would help me more too.

The first step I did was to build the plug out of Styrofoam and cover it with some glass to get a hard shell I sanded it and added some paint. The next step was to make the mold from that plug so I could produce as much fuse that I wanted.

The plug is used for the making of the mold only, when the mold is finish you scrap the plug.

OR you could paint up the plug, and stick it on a post at the end of your driveway.. Better yet hollow it out and make it into a mailbox!!

That is a good ideas

Well when I say I scrap the plug when the mold is done, it is not totally true, I used it for my vacuum forming of the windows.
