Here is a bit of info for the tech heads in the bunch

Smoke oil : While they are on the course, the must run smoke. The smoke must be on as they pass through the opening gate and remain on until they have passed through the last gate. If the smoke stops flowing, even 5 meters before the finish gate, they are given a time penalty.
They must burn smoke oil at a flow rate of 2.5 liters per minute. They are tested and measured randomly throughout the racing to make sure everyone is running the same. The smoke oil they run is nothing special. Pete burns a light weight machine oil that is sold by Shell. He said they typically don't use anything special. Just any light weight machine oil that they can get their hands on, that has a low flash poiont. He said he typically pays $40 to $50 for a 20 litre pail. Sure beats the $30 we pay for our 4 or 5 litre jugs

Wings and Main Spar : The wings and main spar on Pete's Version 3 Edge are bolted to the airframe with only (2) 3/4 inch Grade 8 bolts. There is a small metal tab closer to the trailing edge with a couple of 1/4 inch bolts that are used as an alignment tab to hold the incidence. Thats all that holds the wings on the plane.
Both main wings and spar are 100% Carbon fiber. Their combined weight for both wings, spar and with ailerons, bearings and internal linkages weigh 125 lbs. Thats right, only 125 lbs...Wow
